Optimal Symbiosis of Tradition and Modernity in Kaprun

Period Architecture

Architecture students have come from all over to look at the shop of the Kaprun-based jeweler, Andreas Hartl. This shop was redesigned by the architecture firm, Lechner and Lechner, and contains over 18 tons of rusted steel, which stand in stark contrast to the finest, high-quality watches and jewelry. The rust creates atmosphere. When choosing the right material for designing this shop, the client and architect took a completely new approach. They wanted to break away from conventional interior design for watch and jewelry shops something independent and create something very special: an atmosphere which could depict the Andreas Hartl’s business philosophy. They chose to use iron in an unconventional way: roasted and later varnished, the cool material gets a warm, lively character and thus, provides the basis for the great atmosphere that now radiates in the shop. The exterior is just as effective: the preservation of the natural form of the house, which has a beautiful linear shape, further underlines the effect.

International Assortment

Both the architecture and the contents of the shop are world class. Jeweler Andreas Hartl offers a large selection and variety of renowned brands such as Omega, TAG Heuer, Maurice Lacroix, Raymond Wel, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Swatch, and Tissot. You can find any piece of jewelry your heart desires. They also accept custom order of individual pieces, which they craft with the finest skills and utmost care. At the heart of the company’s philosophy is personal care. Andreas Hartl, his mother Eva Hartl, as well as the entire team personally strive for customer satisfaction.
